Where do I start?! This was the most frantic game of football of the season even more so than the Berkhamstead Comrades 4-5. This was evident at the final whistle when frustrations boiled over.

Alex Sykes returned in goal for the Corries while Sam Lomas started at right back in place of the injured Jake Plumridge who will be out for a couple of months with ankle ligament damage.

The game started as it finished with goals! Within 5 minutes, Corries were ahead. Matthew Hatt won a free kick 25 yards out and a good chance for the home side. Dan Hill stepped up and bent a delightful free kick over the wall and into the top left hand corner. Delight for the home side!

2 minutes later and the game was level. The impressive Albie Hall weaved his way through the Corries defence and finished brilliantly into the bottom right hand corner. 1-1

3 minutes later.. the away side were in front with a bizarre goal. A long ball over the top and Callum Nevin and Pitstone's Groom took chase. The ball was going towards the post when Nevin was about to clear and he was pushed onto the post before Groom tapped it in. Even the goal moved! How a free kick wasn't given is beyond me, but that seems to be the luck we have been getting with the officiating of late.

Another immediate reaction, Corries were level. Another comical goal! Danny Imlach played a long ball forward and the on rushing away keeper misread the bounce and went over his head. Matthew Hatt chased it down and scored into an empty net from 18 yards. 2-2

The game went backwards and forwards at such a pace. It was just frantic. Complete bonkers to be honest. On 23 minutes the home side turned it around. The impressive Jacob Hutchinson scored his first league goal for the club with an excellent finish. Ben Jenkins was the provider with an excellent through ball which Hutchinson ran on to before slotting into the bottom left hand corner to send the home bench into raptures. 3-2 and the home side would comfortably see out the first half in the lead.

The second half started and it wasn't quite as frantic as how the first started but that was not to last. It all started on 64 minutes when Corries went 4-2 up. The ball was played into Hatt who played a brilliant outside of the boot ball to the on rushing Jacob Hutchison who produced the goal of the game. He ran at the Pitstone goal, got into the area and placed a shot into the bottom right hand corner of the goal. What a finish! Joy around the ground as Corries doubled their lead.

That joy was short-lived as a minute later, that man again, Hall! He weaved through the home side defence and toe poked past Sykes in goal. 4-3!

5 minutes and it was all square! A corner from the right hand side and an unmarked Downes scored a header to equalise. The home bench couldn't believe it.

I'd love to write more about the action of the game but there was so much, I'd be here all day. Let's get to the eventual winner. Into stoppage time and the away side stole all three points. The Pitstone winger got down the left with support from the full back and they managed to deliver a low ball into the box where the midfielder Groom arrived alone to smash past Sykes and send the away bench home happy.

Things spilt over at the final whistle with the home players unhappy with the away players celebrations but just a reaction of frustration and disappointment. It was soon calmed down and not that type of game.
