Race Association Football Club

About the club

Race Association Football Club was formed on 1st December 1905 from an Under 18s team that took on a local Pontypool Church team (result unknown), this year making it our 116th year as an amateur/grassroots providing football for the local community and surrounding areas.

For many years the clubs home ground known locally as "The Miners Welfare" was built and paid for by local miners with deductions coming from their weekly wages.
