Report

Shooting up the slight hill first half Patchway dominated the majority of the ball and were showing great composure to keep possession, and starve Olveston of any sort of opportunity to get forward.

Quite a few chances went begging, and the keeper also making a couple good saves to deny long range efforts.

Against the run of play a minute before half time, a ball played over the top of Patchway’s defence saw Voisey come to claim the ball on the edge of his area. Unfortunately he and Barry got in each others way and the ball landed kindly for their striker to tuck into an empty net.

It was a bit of a different story 2nd half, as Patchway made 3/4 changes and lost control of the game.

Olveston were finding more time on the ball and more gaps in Patchway’s defence.

On 60 minutes Olveston bagged their second as a cross from the left evaded the defence and keeper, and fell kindly for the attacker at the far post who nodded it into an empty net.

Patchway huffed and puffed and finally got there reward on 85 minutes when Lyam pulled the ball back in the box and Reece Evans swivelled and guided the ball into the top right corner.

Pushing for the equaliser Patchway were then caught on the counter attack and there striker managed to get in behind the defence and he then rounded the keeper to slot home with his left foot.

Overall a game of 2 halves and certainly a game of missed chances as Patchway’s failure to convert there dominance into goals in the 1st half really came back to haunt them.
