Patchway Town got their pre season off to a winning start, coming from behind to win 3-2 on a hot and humid Saturday afternoon.
Lawrence Weston started the stronger and could have taken an early lead as Patchway were a little sloppy in possession.
Slightly against the run of play, Patchway took the lead when a free kick from 25 yards out was expertly despatched into the top right corner by Coxy.
Patchway then continued to try and play out from the back and a short back pass to the keeper was pounced upon by the Lawrence Weston attacker, who then nestled the ball into the back of the net.
Quite soon after the ball was again given away and the Lawrence Weston forward was played through on goal and he finished into the far corner.
A number of substitutions were made at half time and Patchway seemed to have a bit more energy and were finding it a lot easier to keep possession and find gaps within the Lawrence Weston midfield.
Patchway were rewarded for this up in tempo, when Coxy did a step over down the left and zipped a lovely ball across the 6 yard box for Yohan to knock in at the back post.
Sam Burgess was then called into action when the Lawrence Weston attacker was through 1v1 with a bouncing ball, but his lobbed attempt was just tipped round the post.
Patchway finally got the winner when a good move down the left hand side with Sid and Tate, ended up with Tate stroking the ball across the 6 yard box for Fin to slide it in passed the keeper.
Overall a good competitive game played in warm conditions, with Lawrence Weston maybe shading the first half, and Patchway taking control of the second half and securing the win.
