Denny Warriors Football Club was founded on the 24th of July 2020 by the club chairman and manager Gary Thorn.
The foundations of our club was built from an idea to support overweight men with poor mental health to improve their quality of life and wellbeing through football. When the manager first suggested this to the Denny Community, the response was incredible and requests to be part of the club immediately started to pour in by the hundreds and so began the Denny Warriors Football Club.
In the short few months since our birth the club is proud to say we are currently supporting upwards of 30 members with their battle to better themselves, whatever their fight may be. Off the field we have links with mental health organisations and are looking to start our own men's mental health group before the end of the year.
We have secured sponsorships from local community businesses along with an impressive affiliation with the professional SPFL football club Stenhousemuir FC, who are showing their continued support in many ways but non-other than providing us with their stadium , Ochilview Park, where we play and train.
We are beginning to build a reputable name for ourselves in our own and surrounding communities which is something we take great pride in as its part of our constitution that we will be an active member of the community and offer our support where possible. We have already done this with several community development projects.
The club is now a recognised member of the Football Fans in Training set up where we look to play the other teams in this programme, The FFIT program is a fantastic set up with an impressive framework to support people of a similar walk of life as our own club members.
The club has achieved all of this at an early stage and it will continue to grow to allow us to support as many people as possible.
Whatever challenges we face as a club or as individuals, whatever battles may rise, we will be there, with strength in our numbers, ready to fight, ready for war!
We are the Warriors!
