AFC Hatch End was founded in 2014 with the aim of providing organised football matches and training sessions in a competitive yet relaxed atmosphere for any player, regardless of background or ability. We are proud of the club that we have created and are excited for what the future holds as we begin to develop and expand in line with our Club Development Plan.
AFC Hatch End is led by the Committee who carry out their roles in a voluntary capacity. The 2021-2022 Committee is as follows:
Together, we have put in place exciting development plans as we look to further progress and develop the club in the coming years. This includes embarking on the first stage of our youth section this coming season with the creation of an U13 Girls Team, as well as expanding adult football with the formation of further men’s teams and the creation of a women’s section in the future.
Currently, the Men’s First XI competes in the Premier Division of the Harrow Sunday Challenge League. As one of the largest Sunday Football Leagues in north west London, the League consists of over 30 clubs across four divisions - all of which are based throughout Harrow and the surrounding areas. Alongside a busy league fixture list, AFC Hatch End also competes in several league and invitational cup competitions, including the Middlesex FA Sunday Junior Cup, which is open to all clubs in Middlesex.
In line with our Club Development Plan and expansion of the club, this year we are embarking on the creation of youth football teams. As part of this, for the 2021-2022 season, we are entering an U13 Girls’ Team into the Capital Girls’ League. Established in 2011, the Capital Girls’ League was a joint venture between the Middlesex FA, London FA and AFA with the aim to increase the number of girls playing football across Greater London. Since its inception the Capital Girl’s League has grown significantly with football being played from U7-U17 age groups.
We are proud of our successes. On the field highlights include a promotion wining season in 2015-2016, being crowned London and Kent Charity Cup Champions in September 2016 and being runners up in the 2019 Kane Cup. Last year, despite not being able to finish the season owing to Covid restrictions, saw the Men’s First XI achieve enough points to be promoted to the Premier Division.
Off the field, the club were invited to take part in the filming of BT Sports ‘Football Tonight in 2015, and, in 2016 we secured sponsorship from ‘Beast Worldwide’, a clothing company owned and run by YouTube celebrity, KSI. In 2020 we were able to secure sponsorship again from local company, Wenzel’s the Bakers.
The Committee have constantly striven to strengthen the club’s foundations. Since the club’s creation we have been successful in gaining three FA Grants and in 2019 we were awarded the prestigious FA Charter Standard Award. We are delighted that we have been awarded this award every year since. In 2020 we were also officially recognised as a Kick It Out Equality Charter Standard Club.
The Committee are driven to continue to grow AFC Hatch End as a footballing centre of excellence within the local community with the overall aim of securing the FA Charter Standard Development Club Award in the future. Please explore this website to find out more information about the club. It is an exciting time as we look to build on the solid foundations that we have built over the last six years and we look forward to welcoming you in the future.
